The City Commission of the 1'ity of Lubbock, Texas, met at 1:30 1'.M. in
Recessed Regular Session, Recessed from Re-ular Irieeting of Nov. 12, 1942,

thereof being present, to -wit:

That, the Uity Health Officer of said City institute measures for the
protection of other persons from inf . ctinn by persons having and reasonably
suspected of having any venereal disease as provided and contemplated by
Article 4445 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas; that said Health Officer
issue all directions orders and instructions, warrants or commitments
necessary or incident to the continuous proper enforcement of all provisions
of said law which are hereby adopted; and to attain the purposes of said law,
all peace officers of the City of Lubbock are hereby instructed, empowered
and directed to co-operate with said health officer and other proper officials
in the enforcement of the provisions of said law, and otherwise to use every
propel° means consistent therewith.

carried unanimously, to aut'-lorize 1,1a,yor C.E. Slaton to execute Easement
for gas main across City's property in Survey 80, Block A, Lubbock County
J.A. Mullins having requested rermission to lay t'-iis gas line.
Mrs. Lou Stubbs, LIrs. Clark Mullican, O.W. nibble, K.N. Clapp, members
of the Lubbock Park Commission, and C.D. McGehee, lark Superintendent,
appeared before the Commission, presenting the nark Department budget
for year 1943-1944: Total amount of budget being35,600.00. There was
discussion, and upon motion by `commissioner Hub Jones, sec nded by
Commissioner J.O. Jones, carried unanimously, that the budget be
approved on a tentative basis, pending the approval of the Oity's general
budget.
Messrs. Geo. Berry and K.N. Clapp, members of Company x - 39th Bat.,
Texas Defense Guard, appeared before the Commission requesting appropriation
for this Company, in the amount of 4?"3250.00, yp500.00 of which has been
advanced by the City of Lubbock. There was discussion, and upon motion
by Commissioner J.C. Jones, seconded by Commissioner Hub Jones, carried
unanimously, to appropriate out of the City's general Fund, '�2750.00
for the continued cperat ion of the Lubbock Defense Guard. gP500.00 of the
$3250.00 having already been appropriated.

17HEREAS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street and/or Avenue
improvement ordinances and re.-olutions, and entered into contract with property
owners for the making and construction of str ets and/or avenue improvements
on portions of numerous streets and/or avenues in said City.
,1ND 1I1HEREAS, at the time some of the units of paving were ori-inally raved
there were some property ovmers who did not pave their property; but since
have entered into contract with the City to place pavement in the leaveou!•s
adjacent to their property. The units on which this pavement has been placed
are as follows:
