The County Cormissioners Court and City Commission met at 9:30 A.M.
August 2, 1940, to consider the Stamp Food Plan for Lubbock County,
Texas, the following members present:
County Judge
County Commissioners
City Cozmaission present:
City Corzaissioners
J.J. Dillard
Ben I?ansker
V.J. Farris
P B Penny
T L Holt
T.:ayor C. E. Slaton
Hub Jones
Garland Newsom
Absent: City Commissioners ,ii.G. IvicMlillan and IT.B. -rice.
After due discussion it was moved by County Commissioner Ben Mansker,
seconded by City Commissioner Hub Jones, carried unanimously, that
the County and City enter into an agreement with the Federal Government
for the Food Stamp Plan and ask that Lubbock County be designated as
such.
