The Texas Company July 24, 1955 Lubbock, Texas Pipe Line Terminal City Water Facilities iiCn - - Lubbock City Commission City of Lubbock c/o Miss Lowe, City Secretary Lubbock, Texas Dear Sirs: The Texas Company has recently purchased acreage on the Clovis highway just north of the inter- section of Flint Avenue with Clovis road, and are in the process of constructing pipe line terminal facilities including the storage, warehouse and office facilities. The operation of these terminal facilities will require the use of a small amount of water and this is our formal request to the City of Lubbock for water service. This letter is being written at the suggestion of Kr. Moore of the City Water Department as our property borders on but is not witin the city limits of Lubbock, and according to Mr. Moore approval is required by the City Commission to serve a customer outside of the city limits. Whenever the Texas Company builds any facilities in or near a city, it is our practice to participate in the use of the city's facilities wherever possible and with this in mind, we are requesting your consideration in making water available to us. It might be pointed out that Phillips Petroleum Company has purchased acreage immediately east of our property and we are assuming that they too will desire water supplied to them by the City of Lubbock. The acreage which has been purchased by the Texas Company and Phillips Petroleum Company is a 35.02 acres out of the South one-half of Section 17, Block A. As previously stated this property is immediately north of Vh Clovis highway and the Santa Fe Railroad right-of-way. Our south property line is coincident with the north right-of-way line of the Santa Fe Railroad main line. Our property is bounded on the west by a four acre tract belonging to Gore Brothers who operate the Texas Producers' Co-op lant. We are alvised by Mr. Moore, that city water is available immediately south of Clovis highway in the alley behind Flint Street which intersects with Clovis highway at a point immediately south of the division line betwe:n the Texas Company acreage and that purchased by Phillips Petroleum Company. It would seem possible that an extension could be made under Clovis hi,_.-hway and the Santa Fe Railroad to a point in the south line of our property and serve both Texaco and Phillips from the same extension. -,;e will appreciate your investigation of this application and advising us as quickly as possible whether or not such facilities will be available to us so that we can corporate same within our construction details. Yours very truly, TIE T`,XAS COLT -ANY Isl F. D. Boesch Asst.
