July 26, 1955
The City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, met at 10 o'clock A.M. in recessed regular
session, recessed from Regular Meeting of July 14, 1955, at the regular meeting place in the
City Hall, the following members thereof being present to -wit:
Mayor Murrell R. Tripp, Commissioners Hurley Carpenter, S. S. Forrest and Lucian Thomas, Acting
City Manager H. P. Clifton, Director of Public Works, W. B. Holmes, A. P. Couch, Director of Finance.
Absent: Commissioner Lennis Baker, City Attorney Vaughn E. Nilson and City Secretary -Treasurer,
Lavenia Lowe*
55-14-180-359 Motion by Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Thomas, motion carried, Mayor Tripp and
Commissioners Carpenter, Forrest and Thomas voting Yea, none voting Nay, to authorize pa,-,zent to
Steve Matthews, formga ,T Manager of the City of Lubbock $1,250.00, being one months salary. Said
amount in payment of^vacation.
i5-14-180-360 Motion by Commissioner Forrest, seconded by Commissioner Thomas, motion carried, Mayor Tripp and
Commissioners Carpenter, Forrest and Thomas voting Yea, none voting Nay, to authorize installation
of I.B.M. tabulating equipment in the Water and Electric Bookkeeping and collection office in the
City Hall, the Mayor being hereby authorized to enter into contract between the City of Lubbock and
the International Business Machines Corpor tion of 590 Madison Avenue, New York, for use of this
equipment.
NO FURTHER BUSINESS CONING UP FOR CONSIDERATION. THE CITY COAKISSION ADJOURNED Z MEET AT REGULAR
