B. Holmes Director of Public Works Lubbock, Texas Dear Mr. Holmes. - In accordance with our discussion with you in regard to furnishing certain engineering services in connection with the field surveys and office work required in establishing the location of the 50th Street Freeway Loop, we are pleased to submit the following proposal for your consideration. We propose to furnish the necessary field party or parties required in making surveys for determining the location of the proposed 50th Street Freeway Loop, and for establishing the center line of right-of-way lines of the final location as approved by the City. We also propose to do such office work in connection with the project as you may direct including assistance and recommendations in determining location of the Freeway at major street and highway intersections, locations across the Yeller House Canyon and railroad crossings. Since the scope of the work is rather indefinite, we feel that the only equitable method for determining the fee for such work would be on a cost plus basis. Therefore, we propose to do the work outlined above or as directed by you for a fee equal to our actual payroll cost, plus 100%, plus actual cost of car expense, meals and miscellaneous supplies. Fees for services rendered would be due and payable,6n statements rendered on the first day of each month. Charges for various classifications of services would vary as follows: Principals$ time - $4.00 per hour Office Engineer - 2.30 " " Party Chief - 1.70 to 2.20 it " Instrument Man - 1.70 to 1.90 Chainman & Rodman - 1940 to 1.70 n n Draftsman - 1.40 to 1.90 The above hourly rates are based on 40 hours per week, and all overtime is paid for at 1i times the regular rate, overtime in any pay period is distributed to all jobs on which the employee works during the pay period in proportion to the total hours worked on each job. If the above proposal is accepted, we will furnish you a list of our employees with their hourly wage scale. Thanking you 'for the opportunity of presenting this proposal, we are MRSJr/daj Yours very truly, PARKHILL, SMITH & COOPER By /s/ M. R. Smith, Jr. M. R. Smith, Jr. 55713-448-74?
