City Manager
Dear Sir:
Notary Public in and for Lubbock County, Texas
August 25, 1956
Approximately four weeks ago our aldest son fell while inside Klapp pool. -e suffered a
skull fracture and shoulder injure. He was confined to the We--t Texas Hospital for a week.
He may have a hearing difficulty and mastoid trouble from this fall, also he isn't going to
be permitted to play foot ball this next season, also he has not been able to work this last few
weeks before school.
I tried to get the park manager to help us with the Hospital bill but he said the City was
not liable for this.
After careful consideration of the injury, loss of work, bills, and hinderance in school
activities, we feel that the sum of five thousand Dollars ($5000.00) will_ compensate for th>
difficulty.
Please let me know as soon as possible so that I will know what to do.
Yours very truly,

City of Lubbock
Dear Sirs:
The DeMo]a.ys of Lubbock would like to have a community car wash that would involve the use
of city water and a connection into a fire plug sprinkler system, etc. Of course this project
would extend for only one day.
As to our location, we would need to be on are as near as possible to an important street.
Our suggestion would be the parking lot on 27th between Avenue P and Avenue Q. This seems to
be a good location because of pedistrian safety. Also there would be no crawding or car and
traffic conjestion. The water would not .enter the street.
This project has been tried by DeMolay's in other towns and was successful. We deeply feel
that this project would be benefidal to our chapter and we would sincerely appreciate your con-
sideration on the matter.

Sincerely
