of the `'it3- of LUI-)bock, Lubbock County, eras, held in the City Fall,
on the 3rd day of October, 1939, a quorum being present, upon notion by
Corinissioner Fortenberry, seconded by Commissioner 1:-cl:ii1l'an, the following
itesoluti on was duly passed.

)''rains; and whereas, the City of 1ubbock is pzving rlan�- new streets and ex-
pendin� SlLn1S of money in marking said streets; and, TYleree.s, the Lemand
for additional garbage service has been i.nc-reased, all of which has entitled
and required the expenditure of substantial sums of honey; c.nd
'. I MEAS., the Cit;- of iubbock at the present tirie is in great need of
; 16,0'0.00 in cash tc �rot,erl�- carry on the iriproverients named above.
1v07i1, therefore, Be It Resolved bur the �;ity Connissi.on of the City of
Lubbock, Texas, that C .E. Slaton, A':ayor of said Ci.ti*, be and he is
hereby autliori zPd and erlpm7ered to negotiate a 60 da;, loan for the
City of Lubbock, not to exceed-,�16,Oi 0.00 in cash., for the purpose of
making extensions of sewer lines, ,,a`.ter mains, increasing the garbage
service and carrying on the paving; of streets, and the said C.L. ilaton,
1:xayor, is further authorized and empowered to execute tin-e marrants to be
-payable out of current revenues to evidence and secure the pay*r�ent of
said loan. Rate of interest riot to exceed 4/o.
