Lubbock, Texas, April 13, 1939.
The City Commission of the City- of Lubbock, Texas, raet at 1:30 P.M.
in Regular Session, at the Regular Lieeting Place in the City Hall,
the following members thereof being present, to -wit:
Mayor C E Slaton, Commissioners III' G McMillan, 11 B 1Jrice, J h
Fortenberry, flub Jones, City Attorney Durwood ii Bradley, City

Absent: None.
The Minutes of Regular I.:eeting of T.-arch 23rd, 1939, were read and
li-Don motion by Commissioner Mchlillan, second ed by Corimissioner
Fcrtemberry, they were unanimously approved.
Motion by Commissioner McMillan, seconded by Commissioner
Fortenberry, carried unanimously, the following bonds were
approved and ordered filed.

Motion by Commissioner trice, seconded by Commissioner LIcI;.illan,
carried unanimously, that elections be chlled, one inside the
City Liriits, and one outside the City Lir.7its, to determine
whether or not College View Addition be taken into the City Limits.
Geo. W. Dupree, Attorney, appeared before the 'omrlission, requesting
that Franchise be granted the Lubbock City Bus Company for a term
of 20 years. There was discussion, but no action taken.

Lubbock, having-; its office and passenger stfition at 1101 Main
Street, Lubbock, Tex-s, respectfully makes application to the
City of Lubbock, its I.:--yor and this Honorable Commission to
grant to said Company ^ franchise for the use and occupancy of
streets, avenues ind public thoroughf=gyres in the Cite of Lubbock
for the purpose of carrjring on a motor bus business in said City
for a period of twenty (20) 1rears from d-ite of this applic.,ition,
as provided under Article 1, Section 18 of the Special Citi.
Charter for the City of Lubbock, Texc�^, adopted December ?7,
1917. In this connection it is respectfull7r shown- to you that

There was discussion of closing alley in Block 10, Morning- Side Addi-
tion, to the City of Lubbock, Texas, and it was unanimously agreed
to not close this alley.
Lotion by Commissioner Fortenberry, seconded by Commissioner Price,
carried un-nimously, that the City Engineer, Mr. I:.R. :"mith, Jr.,
or J.C. Clark, be sent to Shreveport, La., at the expense of the
Citv, and inspect used 10" C-st Iron pipe.
Bids ,vere read on pipe, and upon motion by Commissioner McMillan,
seconded by Commissioner Fnrtenberr-v, carried unanimously, to
purchase 4965' of 6" ^_'r�-nsite Pipe and 225t of 411 Trarisite pipe.

That the MRyor and City Secretary be ana they are hereby instructed
to execute anddeliver certificates in evidence of the assessments levied
against the parcels of property abutting upon the said portion of l3th
Street, 18th Street, 7th Street, 8th Street, 20th Street, Avenue U,
Avenue S, 4venue R, Avenue 0, Avenue N, and Avenue J, and arrainst the
owners of such property in accordpnce with lnw and in the manner
provided in s?id contract, and the proceedings r?ith reference to slid
improvements Pnd assessments.
