As you kno,:r, the reason for the filling of vacancies on the 'Roard of City Development is done in t:hisJmanner for two reasons: Y 1. In order that the -Board of "irectors of the Chamber of Commerce and. The Board of City Development may be synonymous; ?. In order that fundamental principles of Cha:_mbers of Cormerce may be carried out in the most democratic ;gray possible by obtaining a mandate from the people as to their choice. I " hlle '7e in n0 .,ray desire t0 Suggest the individuals On this ' list •,ho^t you should appoint, re would state that the ideal -Board should be made tp of representatives of v^rious business, territorial and other Mroups. In other v.ror•ds, ,,.,e might have 15 doctors, each of "-hom .,ou'd make an ideal director, but a Board of Directors composed of 15 doc'-ors would not be an ideal -Board because it would not represent various lines of business, industry, the professions and so forth.
