Lubbock, Texas, Sept. 149, 1953.
The Uity Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, met at 1:30
P.M. in Regular Session at the Regular Meeting Place in the city
Hall, the following members thereof being present, to -wit:
Mayor J.J. Clements, Commissioners J.F. Bacon, J.C. Royalty,
City Attorney E.L. Klett, City Manager W.H. Rodgers and City
Secretary J.L. Holt.
Absent: Commissioners Jno. E. Roach and Geo.E.Benson.
The Minutes of Regular Meeting of August 24, 19339 and Recessed
Regular Meeting of August 31, 1933, were read and upon motion by
Mr. Bacon, seconded by Mr. Royalty, they were unanimously approved.
Upon motion by Mr. Bacon, seconded by Mr. Royalty, carried unani-
mously, Tax Collector R.A. Holland was instructed to charge off
carnival tax assessed against the South Plains Fair Asp1n. for the
years 1931 and 19329 inclusive, in the amount of §600.00.
Notion by Mr. Bacon, seconded by Mr. Royalty, carried unanimously,
City Manager W.H. Rodgers was authorized to purchase a car of
Lubricating oil from the Cities Service Oil Company for the Electrical
Department at .19899 or less, per gallon, F.O.B. Lubbock, Texas.
Motion by Mr. Bacon, seconded by Mr. Royalty, carried unanimously,
the tax rendition of Axtell Company for 1933 was accepted at
.531, 681.33.
Motion by Mr. Royalty, seconded by Mr. Bacon, carried unanimously,
City Manager W.H. Rodgers was instructed to purchase Rock Asphalt
at the best possible price for paving leaveouts.
Motion by Mr. Bacon, seconded by Mr. Royalty, carried unanimously,
the bill for dues to the Municipal Utilities League in the amount
of $60.00 was ordered paid and the City of Lubbock withdraw its
membership.
Motion by Mr. Royalty, seconded by Mr. Bacon, carried unanimously,
the tax paid by H. Franke on automobile in the amount of 66,&, tax
Receipt No. 1448, dated January 10, 19339 was ordered refunded
account he was not living in the City Limits on January 19 1932.
