Lubbock, 'Texas, August 14, 1931.
The City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, met at
7:30 -P.M. in Reces ed Regular Session, recessed from Regular
Meeting of August 4, 1931, at the Regular IFeet ing Place in
the City Hall, the following members thereof being nresent,
t olwi t :
Mayor J.J. Clements, Commissioners Geo. -�-. Benson, Jno. r.
Roach, D.N. Leaverton, J.-V. bacon, Acting (.:ity Manager ':.F.
Rodgers, and Acting City Secretary J.L. Holt.
Absent: None .
Motion by Mr. Leaverton, seconded b; Irr. Bacon, carried
unanimously, it was ordered,effective I-eptember ],, 1931, to
reduce payroll in the various departments, as listed.
Engineering Department, Cecil tray, $150.00,
Electric Inspection to be combined with .wilding Department,
J.A. Pressley, �165.00,
Tax Department, Bettie Clark, g65.00.
Reduce Park Department two (2) men,
Water Department, ten (10) men,
Electric uepartment, seven (7) men.
Reduce Airport salary from 125.00 to ;;:100.00i per month.
Acting City Manager I.H. Rodgers was instructed to investigate
the Health T epartn-ent to see if reduction can be made there.
No furtiler busiriess coming up for considerfition, upon notion
by Mr. Benson, seconded by i.'r. iioach, the t ity Commission
adjourned.
