the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, 2 exas, met at 8 : 30 P.M.
in Recessed Session, iec ess ed from I:ieet ins of July
25, 1929, the following members thereof being present to -wit:
Mayor H.D. goods, Commissioners J.H. H.nkins, J.P. Bacon, City
Mt:nuger �.:. IAcCleury, and Secretary W.H. -codgers.
ABSENT: A.V. ',Vetiver and L.N. Le&:ver ton.
Meeting culled for the purpose of discu-,sing City Li?ht lant exten-
sion, the following citi lens being present.

Lotion by Mr. Lacon, seconded by .or. Hankins, carried unanimously,
1�Gyor H.D. :floods was authorized to sign contract with ire. Florence
Jones and J.M. Jones, Agent, to rurchase land for airport site
provided the Board of _'ity :)evelopment settle in full for all
commissions that might be hereafter claimed by any one.

Mrs. Florence Jones, by J.M. Jones, went, owner
of section Twenty-eight (28) in Ll oc k A in Lubbock County, Texas,
containing six hundred forty (640) acres of land, hereby agrees
to grant , sell and convey said lot by good and sufficient warranty
deed to the City of yubbock the purchaser, for a total consideration
of forty Thousand Lollars (-�40,000.00), which th.e City of Lubbock
promises to pay to the aforesaid owner on delivery of abstract
and deed herein called for, either in cash or municipal airport
bonds voted b; the City of Lubbock on Lpril 23, 1929, of the par
value of 2'orty 'Thou and Dollars (5$40,000.00), beurina interest from
August 1, 1929, at the rate of 5o per atlnum, pay<h, le semi-annually,
principal and interest payable at the National -Dunk of Commerce cf
New York City.
the aforesaid owner agrees to furnish to the rurchaser
at once a complete abstract of title to said land showing that the
owner has a good merchantable title thereto. the rurchaser shall
forthwith have said abstract examined and the defects therein, if
any, reported in writing, so that the owner shell have a reason-
able time in which to cure any legal objections.
L'h e vendor shall pay all 1929 taxes.
it is contemplated that this contract shall be closed on
or before &ugust 1, 1929, but it is rossible that there will be some
unavoidable delay, on the port of vendor, in furnishing good
merchantable title, or on the part of the ::ity of Lub. ock in pro-
curing the issuance of the bonds or the money ircm the sGl e of the
bonds, and in any such event a further reasonable time shall be
ranted in which to close the deal, not to exceed sixty days from
August 1, 1929.
It is further agreed and understood that as a part of the
consideration of this contract, and the conveyance by lairs. Florence
Jones of said land to the Gity of Lubbock, that said City agrees
and binds itself to indemnify said owner from all liability for
commission to 2rank Jones, and in the event suit is filed by said
Frank Jones, the :.'ity of 1_u;sbock is to ray all costs and expenses,
and furnish attorney to defend said suit, and is to Iay any judgment
rendered against L-Irs. L,'lorence Jones for such commission.
it is understood that it is optional .njith the City

in cash or in said bonds.
