City Commission met in called session for the purpose of discussing the fire Depart-
ment with the following present:
Mayor Pink L. Parrish, Commissioners J.O.Jones, J.H.Hankins, A.V. leaver, City
Attorney, E.L.Klett, Superintendent of Utilities. N.H.Perkinson, and City
Secretary, F.id.Groce.
.absent: Commissioner vV.S.Posey.
The Commission ordered Fire Chief,oi.E.Twitty, to take up the matter of the key
rate for the City of Lubbock and to see what had to be done in order to lower
our rates.
Motion made by Mr. .leaver, seconded by Mr. Hankins, that r'ire Chief Twitty employ
an assistant Fire Chief at a salary of $125.00 and anoth r fireman at a salary of
$100.00 per month. Motion carried unanimously.
Potion made by Mr. Hankins, seconded by Mr. Jones, carried unanimously that the
Commission purchase a site for fire station No. 2 and the following Committee was
appointed to purchase same: A,.V. Neaver, J.H.Hankins and J.O.Jones.
Lotion made by Mr. i4eaver, seconded by Mr. Jones, carried unanimously that the
Commission be adjourned.
