THE HONORABLE: MAYOR. and
CITY COMMISSION,
Lubbock, Texas.
Gentlemen:
April 8th, 1926,
rlease accept this letter as my resignation as City Manager to take effect
as soon as the the new Commission can conveniently relieve me.
This is in line with the agreement had betwen the Board of Directors of
the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and the City Commission last December, and
later confirmed by the Board of City Development; that is- that I would serve
as City Manager until the regular Bi-ennial election the first Tuesday in
April.
To the old Commission, I want to express my sincere appreciation of the
cooperation, assistance and courtesies that they h.ve extended me, and to
the new Commission, I want to offer my services and all information I have
gathered in my position as City Manager to the end that they may best serve
Lubbock and her wonderful citizenship.
In just a few days I will file with the new Commission all the information
and data that I have, that I think will be of assistance.
In justice to myself, and as the accountants now making the regular
annual audit of the City of Lubbock are still at work, I want to ask that
these accountants be instructed to bring their audit down to the time I am
relieved of my duties as City Manager.
Again assuring you of my desire to be of service at all times, I am
Respectfully yours,
A.B. Davis,
