Wolffarth, J.O. Jones and W.S. Posey; Commissioners. The petition asking the City Commission to close the street between Blk. 8 and 9, south side addition was tabled by unanimous vote. Upon a motion made by Pdir. Wolffarth and seconded by Mr. Blair the follow- ing unit was accepted by unanimous vote: " Uni t J16 5889 Sq, yds. The Hon. Mayor & City Commisson: Lubbock, Texas. Gentlemen: We hand you herewith 21 Paving Certificates, being all those on Unit J16, or Sixteenth Street from the east property line of Avenue "M" to the west property line of Ave."H". The net total, less credits, of these 21 Certi- ficates is $16,254.71, and the City's portion of the cost of this Unit is $5,510.57; total cost of this Unit is $21,765.28. The cost of this Unit did not over -run the esti- mated cost, but due to two leave outs, aggregating 250 ft. of property, and the fact that Unit #26 was not constructed, thereby throwing all the cost of the Avenue "I" intersection on Unat 116, the rote per front foot did run higher than the published rate. The amount which the property ovrner's share over -ran the publish- ed amount was 033.56 and was charged directly to the City. The published rate was used as final rate, and the only credits there- by resulting were curb credits. The originally estimated totals for this Unit were: Property Owners $818,305.23, City $5,518.41, total cost $23,823.64. The total cost of the Unit was decreased 02,058.36 largely due to the two leave outs mentioned; the property owner's share was decreased $220.00, due, wholly, to the credit for curb already in place; the City's share was decreased 07.84. We recommend the acceptance of this unit as being done in accord with the plans, specifications, and contract govern- ing same, and the signing and delivery to the Panhandle Construc- tion Company of Lubbock, Texas, of the 21 Paving Certificates.
