CITY OF LUBBOCK
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
APRIL 29, 1983
11:30 A. M.
In accordance with a notice posted April 22, 1983, a Special City Council meeting was
held at 11:30 A. M. on this date.
Those present: Mayor Bill McAlister, Councilwoman Joan Baker, Councilman E. Jack Brown,
City Manager Larry Cunningham, City Attorney John C. Ross, and City Secretary -Treasurer
Evelyn Gaffga.
Absent: Mayor Pro Tem Alan Henry and Councilman M. J. Aderton.
83-42-214 4'08 The invocation was given by City Manager Larry Cunningham.

83-42-2147409 The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given in unison by those present in the Council
( 2 ) ., Chambers.
Assistant City Manager Robert Massengale indicated that he had received a report from
Mooneys that morning which indicated that due to the excellent debt position, the strong
economy and the growth of the City, the City of Lubbock was a good financial risk.
83-42-214-410 Consider Ordinance No. 8430 on second reading related to sale of General
( 3 ) Obligation Bonds, 1983 Series.
Ordinance No. 8430
The motion was made by Councilwoman Baker, seconded by Councilman Brown to pass
Ordinance No. 8430 on second and final reading. Motion carried: 3 Yeas; 0 Nays, 2
absent (Henry and Aderton).
There being no further business, the motion was made by Councilwoman Baker, seconded by
Councilman Brown to adjourn at 11:35 A. M. Motion carried: 3 Yeas; 0 Nays; 2 Absent
(Henry and Aderton).
