SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
June 27, 1980
11:45 A.M.
The City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas, met for a special meeting
Friday, June 27, 1980, at 11:45 a.m, in the City Council Chambers, Second
Floor, City Hall.
Those present:
Mayor Bill McAlister, Mayor Pro Tem Alan Henry, Councilman E. Jack Brown,
Councilman M. J. Aderton, Councilwoman Joan Baker, City Manager Larry
Cunningham, City Attorney John C. Ross, Jr., and City Secretary -Treasurer
Evelyn Gaffga.
Absent: None

THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: ZONE CASE NO. 2287;
CHANGE TRACT A OF WILLIAMS SUBDIVISION, CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY,
TEXAS FROM AM TO AM SPECIFIC USE ZONING DISTRICT; AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF
A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT THEREON; SUBJECT TO A CONDITION; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY
AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 1-5 OF THE CITY CODE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE
AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
The motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Henry, seconded by Councilman Brown to
pass Ordinances 8069, 8064, 8065, 8066, 8067 and 8068 on second and final
reading. Motion carried: Mayor McAlister, Mayor Pro Tem Henry, Councilmen
Brown and Aderton and Councilwoman Baker voting Yea; none voting Nay.

An ordinance authorizing the issuance of $6,450,000 "CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS,
GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS, SERIES 1980," dated July 1, 1980, and the approval
of the official statement in connection therewith.
The motion was made by Councilman Aderton, seconded by Councilwoman Baker to
pass Ordinance No. 8063 on second and final reading and to accept all official
documents connected therewith. Motion carried: Mayor McAlister, Mayor Pro
Tem Henry, Councilmen Brown and Aderton and Councilwoman Baker voting Yea;
none voting Nay.
ORDINANCE NO. 8063
AN ORDINANCE by the City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas, authorizing the
issuance of $6,450,00 "CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS,
SERIES 1980," dated July 1, 1980, for the purpose of making permanent public
improvements, to wit: $5,082,000 for constructing improvements and extensions
to the City's waterworks system; $800,000 for constructing improvements and
extensions to the City's sanitary sewer system; and $568,000 for constructing
street improvements in and for said City, including lighting and signalization;
prescribing the form of the bonds and the form of the interest coupons;
levying a continuing direct annual ad valorem tax on all taxable property within
limits of said City to pay the interest on said bonds and to create a sinking
fund for the redemption thereof and providing for the assessment and collection
of such taxes; enacting provisions incident and relating to the subject and purpo�
of this ordinance; and providing an effective date. i
There being no further business, the motion was made by Councilman Brown,
seconded by Councilwoman Baker to adjourn at 11:48 a.m. Motion carried:
Mayor McAlister, Mayor Pro Tem Henry, Councilmen Brown and Aderton and
Councilwoman Baker voting Yea; none voting Nay.
