SPECIAL CALLED CITY COUNCIL MEETING
MINUTES
JUNE 2, 1986
The City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas met in special called session
on the 2nd day of June, 1986 in the City Council Chambers, first floor,
City Hall, 1625 13th Street, Lubbock, Texas at 9:00 a.m.
Present: Mayor B.C. McMinn, Mayor Pro Tem Joan Baker, Councilman T. J.
Patterson, Councilman George Carpenter, Councilman Gary Phillips, Council-
woman Maggie Trejo, Councilman Bob Nash, City Manager Larry J. Cunningham,
City Attorney John C. Ross, Jr., and City Secretary Ranette Boyd.
Mayor McMinn called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

( 1.) The Invocation was given by Rita P. Harmon, Assistant
City Manager for Public Services..

( 2.) The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given in unison
by those in the Council Chambers.

( 3.) ORDINANCE #8928--Designating a Reinvestment Zone within
the City of Lubbock, as authorized by Art. 1066f,
V.A.C.S., for commercial -industrial tax abatement within

AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING A REINVESTMENT ZONE WITHIN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK
AS AUTHORIZED BY ART. 1066f, V.A.C.S.; DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF SAID
ZONE; DESCRIBING THE ELIGIBILITY OF SAID ZONE FOR COMMERCIAL -INDUSTRIAL TAX
ABATEMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE.
Motion was made by Councilman Nash, seconded by
Councilman Carpenter passing on second and final reading
Ordinance #8928. Motion carried: 7 Yeas; 0 Nays.
There being no further business to come before the Council, Mayor McMinn
adjourned the meeting at 8:01 a.m.
