SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
August 22, 2018

The City Council of the City of Lubbock,Texas met in special session on the 22nd of August,2018,
at the Wells Fargo Center, 1500 Broadway, 5th Floor,Suite 501,Lubbock,Texas at 1.30 p.m.

Manager W. Jarrett Atkinson; City Secretary Rebecca Garza; City Attorney Chad
Weaver
Absent: Council Member Juan A. Chadis; Council Member Randy Christian
This was a meeting of the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, Inc. (LEDA) Board.of
Directors.A quorum of Council Members attended and participated in discussions during the
meeting which the board considered the following topics as shown below.
Note; The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, Inc. (LEDA)Board of Directors addressed
agenda items in the following order:
.Item 1.
1. Regular Agenda
City Council will attend and participate with Lubbock Economic Development Alliance Inc. as it
holds a press conference to announce new and expansion projects that will create approximately 75
new jobs,with over$26 Million in Capital Investment for Lubbock and Downtown Redevelopment
Grant Projects.Mayor Dan Pope will make remarks.
Jahn Osborne, President and CEO of Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) and
Market Lubbock, Inc., welcomed all in attendance and gave opening remarks.
Carolyn Rowley, Director of Business Recruitment& Innovation with LEDA,presented information
regarding the Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. Seed Research Center.
Kenny McKay, Director of Business Retention with LEDA,presented information regarding the
expansion of SunGold Foods, Inc,, SitePro,and Hydrite Chemical Co. Mike Williams,Managing
Director of Procurement and Southern Operations for SunGold Foods, Inc.; Aaron Phillips,
President, Co-CEO, and Berard Member of SitePro; David Bateman, Co-CEO and Board
Member of SitePro; and Steve Reid,Regional Operations Manager for Hydrite, gave comments

regarding their companies.

Projects Coordinator with presented regarding Concord

Medical Group,The LBK Property Group, and 2 Does Brewing Co. These three companies have
recently earned downtown redevelopment grants. The total combined capital investment of these
three pro*)ccts is over$1.3 million. Eric Cunningham, Co-Owner of Does Brewing Co, gave
comments regarding his company.
Mr. Osborne introduced Mayor Daniel M. Pope and Mayor Pope thanked the LEDA Board, LEDA
staff, and the City Council for all their hard work.
Mr. Osborne gave closing remarks.

There being no :further business to corse before Council, the meeting was adjourned.
