SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The City Council of the City of Lubbock,Texas met in special session on the 17th of August,2018,
at the Southwest Corner of the Intersection of Quincy Avenue and 98th Street,Lubbock,Texas
at 1:00 P.M.
1:02 P.M. CITY COUNCIL CONVENED

Lubbock,Texas
Present: Mayor Daniel M. Pope; Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Griffith; Council Member Randy
Christian; Council Member Steve Massengale; City Secretary Rebecca Garza; City
Attorney Chad Weaver; Assistant City Manager Jesica McEachern,
Absent: Council Member Juan A. Chadis; Council Member Latrelle Joy; Council Member
Shelia Patterson Harris
Note: The City Council attended and participated in the 98th.Street Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
Agenda items were addressed in the following order:
1. Regular Agenda
1. 1. Introduction and Opening Remarks
Mayor Daniel M. Pope and Mike Keenum, Division Director of Engineering/City Engineer,
gave opening remarks and thanked all who were in attendance.
1.2. Welcome and Comments
Randy Christian, City Council Member District 5, gave welcoming remarks and comments.
1.3. Comments
Karen Gibson, Former City Council Member District 5,gave comments.
1.4. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Council Member Randy Christian, and others in attendance, initiated the lowering orthe
barricades. Mr. Christian followed with closing remarks.

There being no further business to come before Council, Mayor Pope adjourned the
meeting.
